Welcome to February
There’s a sprinkling of snow coming down in DC as I sip my morning tea and write to you. I know things feel heavy right now. Carving out time to pause, reflect, and dream is more important than ever. With all the uncertainty and the constant stream of news, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or powerless. Prioritizing self-care isn’t an escape—it’s a way to stay grounded and reclaim a sense of control. Give yourself space to acknowledge your growth, celebrate small wins, and set gentle intentions as an act of self-preservation in turbulent times.
What’s a Month Review?
A little “herstory” for you: Longtime blog readers may recall how my “week in review” evolved into a “month in review” and later, a “season in review” over the past two decades. These reflective practices have been a cornerstone of Tranquility du Jour to pause, assess, and plan with intention.
So, what exactly is a Month Review? It’s a simple yet transformative exercise to:
✨ Set monthly dreams to guide our focus.
✨ Reflect on the past month’s wins, lessons, and surprises.
✨ Celebrate progress and milestones (big and small).
✨ Identify what needs tweaking to stay aligned with our dreams.
This regular check-in encourages accountability, clarity, and celebration while carving out space for meaningful reflection.
In this month’s review, you’ll find:
🌸 My January reflections and photos (here’s an IG reel)
🌸 February’s dreams to inspire your own
🌸 Your updated monthly workbook for deeper daily and monthly reflection
🌸 Resources and journal prompts to support your practice
I hope this private peek into my world inspires you to embrace your own regular reflection practice. Let’s savor the journey together while preparing for a tranquil, intentional month ahead!
Prompts
Set the stage for a reflective and inspiring session: light a candle, turn on this month’s Spotify playlist, and gather your planner along with your favorite photos from the past month. Create a cozy, tranquil space to dive into your reflections.
Look Back: In your journal (or the monthly workbook linked below), jot down last month’s experiences. Focus on the highlights, lessons, and sweet in-between moments that brought joy or insight. Celebrate what went well—those glimmers of magic and progress.
Look Ahead: Reflect on what you’d like to experience, do, or become in the month ahead. Consider how you can bring more intention, ease, or creativity into your days.
Here are four prompts to support your process:
