Kimberly, I think that one can still have a capsule wardrobe and add sparkle and pizzazz. The capsule is just that -- a capsule, not the entire wardrobe.
Thanks Kathleen—there are no doors now which makes it much easier to access in my small space. There’s no space for regular doors to open into the bedroom and the sliding barn doors had become cumbersome! 🩷
I’m getting ready to tackle my closet this weekend and I’ve been dreading it. BUT, I love your line of ….a conversation between your old self and who you want to be…. I’m writing that out and taping it to my closet door to keep my mindset in a better place!
Shelly, I'm so glad this resonated. Past vs future self is always helpful for me to keep in mind, too! Happy closet tackling, love. Check out p. 80 of Year of Tranquility for more tips! You've got this! xx
Ha! But really, how many leopard print vintage ones does a girl need?! I got a black faux fur short coat at a Goodwill in NYC last fall for $35 and wore it all season—snow, super cold, kinda cold, chilly. Love a good thrifted find! xx
As many as she wants! haha. Omg, what a find! I found a vintage faux fur short brown coat in the Salvos (Salvation Army thrift shop or op shop as we say) for $25! I'll be bringing it everywhere with me this winter. Me too! xx
Thank you! Ah, I have a tiny hideaway where I moved the coats since they're my only "seasonal" items (besides beachwear which is in one of the bottom drawers) and my closet is seasonless. Re: bedding, I piled four comforters onto my bed for nightly use PLUS my weighted blanket (yes, I like weight!) and have set aside a couple bags of bedding to donate to our locate humane society. Now I'm down to a few heirloom items, an extra 1-2 sets of linens to rotate, an extra couch slipcover, and throw blankets for when the weather chills again! xx

By the way, I love those coats!
What she said! I always knew you did the add-ons to your basic black, which is such a smart and cute way to go!
Thanks so much, Paula! It makes getting dressed so much easier! xx
Thanks, love, appreciate your sentiment and agree! xx
Your newly-organized closet is beautiful, but it's hard to tell if you can close the door. Just curious.

Your photos don’t even do it justice. It really is something else in person. And the lights are everything!
Thank you, Carrie! It was a joy to share it with you! xx
